Product Description
This is a reconditioned power tool. Reconditioned generally means that the tool has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the tool back to like new condition. Some tools may contain cosmetic blemishes. The Bostitch RN46-1 is a Factory Reconditioned 1/4" NPT Roofing Nailer. The RN46-1 roofing nailer weighs 4.8 lbs featuring magnesium housing for job site durability. Aggressive wear guards, non-skid pads and carbide inserts in the tip for long life. The Bostitch RN46-1 is the only roofing nailer to feature integrated last nail capture so it won't fire when it runs out of nails. With its patented single-action side load canister, the nailer has 410 in-lbs of power for the toughest applications. A quick set adjustable depth control makes for consistent nail drives. An over molded grip provides comfortable use and the shingle guide requires no tool for adjustment.

5 out of 5 stars Great Nailer   February 19, 2010
Magnuson (Colorado)
Best roofing nailer for the price. Have used this gun on 6 roofs with very few problems. I found that it works best with bostitch brand nails. Other brands of nails would bend over or jamb the gun.

C. Van Der Vyver (Watertown, NY)
Arrived quickly, but I paid extra for that. Did not work at all out of the box! VERY annoying. A weekend set-aside to roof with a friend. Went to the orange Bigbox competitor and paid a LOT more for a new one. But it worked well. Fires two nails off from time to time, but otherwise great. So for the NEW product 4 stars. For the recon version from Amazon - ZERO! And took me four weeks to get my money back.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Tool   December 5, 2009

I could not tell that this tool was reconditioned. I only used this nailer to put on 3 square of shingles so far and it worked great. I have purched reconditioned Bostitch nailers before and have never been disapointed.

1 out of 5 stars Don't do it.   November 3, 2009
Tool Junkie (LI NY)
Bought this nailer to do my roof. Unfortunately I waited till the cooler weather to do it so I can't return it, Nailer fired about 50 nails then quit. Now I'm screwed.

Update-----After a week being repaired I got my nailer back. No charge for the repair. Maybe if it stops raining I can do my roof. Add a star for repair service.

Nice day, no rain, took my nailer and some shingles up on the second story, nailer fired 21 nails then quit. Same problem as first time. Back to repair service. A hammer is looking like a much more reliable way to do my roof.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I needed   October 23, 2009

Nailer was received and arrived in the time and condition I expected. Not a brand new gun, but reconditioned and with some "character" Gun works great and performed well helping me finish a roof without mishap. Would recommend anyone else go the same route.
