I was hopeful that I wouldn't have any issues with a refubished product, afterall, wouldn't it seem that the company should have gone over the thing from top to bottom? WRONG! When I attempted to attach the sprayer hose, the housing would have fallen out in my hands had it been able to come through the plastic outside. My first clue that this wasn't going to work should have been the fact that the on/off knob turned freely. I called a local dealer who shared that the company that use to refurb Karcher products was good but that the current company does a poor job!
I received this product Friday and of course, when calling the 1-800 number, I got directed to call back M-F during normal business hours. Not sure how I'll resolve this yet, but be weary before purchasing this refub!

Do not order this item based on the picture provided as the picture is apparently a K 5.85 M with the built in hose reel! Now I get the pleasure of trying to return the item that I did not order even though Amazon has this item as a "NO RETURN" item:(.

Ordered the Karcher 5.93 reconditioned.
In the past I've had good experiences with reconditioned goods.
It came missing some rather obvious parts. Like the holster for the power nozzle.
I thought reconditioned goods were supposed to pass a standard and be looked after
and then sent out almost better than new. They're supposed to be field tested rather
than spot checked on the assembly line.
When I received my new parts, one was incorrect.
The unit does work, and work well, however I did have the same problem as another
reviewer. Upon my first use, one of the wheels fell off. I figured the other reviewer
just got a bad unit and it was a fluke... Nope!
Upon review of my replacement parts, I read on the label "Made in Romania".
Hmmm, my nice German engineered power washer... made in Romania???

I paid $169.00 on Amazon. I ordered a 5.85 MR pressure washer and got the 5.93 MR instead. Package came without the trigger gun. I called Amazon and they sent one out immediately!!! Good ol American customer service at it's best!!! I received the replacement within two days of calling. I mailed the first unit back using a UPS prepaid sticker sent to me from via email from Amazon.
The second unit was also a 5.93 MR. I gave up on getting the 5.85 MR. I noticed that Amazon increased the price to $189.00 and changed the description to 5.93 MR, but still displays the picture of the 5.85MR. The second unit did come complete and was in great shape except that the plastic shell is very thin and cheap and would pop open a little causing the power cord base to come loose. A little epoxy cleanly solved the problem. You cant tell I made that 'repair' at all. The machine works great, especially for the money. It's great to safely clean pavers, cars, lawn furniture and siding. I have a new 600 sq foot paver patio, 120 liner feet of PVC fence and 800 sq ft of cement. The Vario wand was strong enough to get things clean without destroying them. The power wand is great for older, dirtier concrete, but small areas only. For large areas of old, dirty concrete, I would definely suggest a gas model. Living in NYC, this machine is great. It's not that loud, cleans well, and is easy to store. The dual tanks are very easy to use. I recommend putting a hose connector extension to prevent the plastic connector on the unit from getting worn out. The problem with this machine is that even though it is pretty well designed, the parts are cheaply made and not put together that well. You definetly need to handle this unit with care which is ok by me because that's how I treat all my equipment. This machine was designed in Germany and built in Italy. It is not made with usage by strong hardworking Americans in mind. The so-so build quality is representative of European socialism at it's worst. That being said, I would recommend the Karcher 5.93 only if you can get it for below $200 USC. I would not have been so positive if I paid the suggested retail price of $350.00 for a new one! Make sure you get it from Amazon and make sure all the parts are in it. Don't worry, Amazon's customer service is awesome and will take care of you if you have an issue!

We have a lot of uses for a medium duty (will not peel paint) power washer. I bought a gas power washer with slightly more output (both pressure and volume) last year and it worked just fine until I had trouble starting it (I'm 68). You can buy a cheaper electric washer than this Karcher, but won't have the superior pump and motor that you need for more than occasional use. The only shortcoming this model has is it's fairly short work radius (they recommend against using an extension cord). We have plenty of outlets so it's no issue and this model does everything we ask of it with ease.
