Bostitch flooring nailer October 18, 2008 The tool is exactly as described in A-1 condition. I've used it for several hours and it performs as expected. The shipping was to take five days and it took four days to arrive. I've trained several volunteers in the use of the flooring nailer and we are replacing two levels of flooring at our historical site, Motor Mill, faster than I expected.
Thanks, JdN
Didn't work for me at all October 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It was a complete waste of money for me. I couldn't drive a single nail fully using this nailer. No matter how hard I hit with the mallet, it never sets the nail in completely.
After trying it for couple of hours, decided to give up. I ended up renting a pneumatic nailer and compressor from the local rental place and that worked like a charm and was able to finish my floor installation very quickly.
I thought I was getting a bargain, but ended up with a $100 tool which doesn't work. I don't think I can return it, since it is past 30 days period.
Update (10/10): Customer service contacted me and let return the tool for full refund(even though it is past 30 days). Very impressed with the customer service quality.
it works, it is hard work September 7, 2008 It is hard work, those professional guys make it look fast and easy, but I could not have put in my new floors without it. It looked like brand new when I got it even though it was "re-conditioned".....it's great.
good nailer with good price August 26, 2008 I have been using it for days, finished 2 rooms of hardwood floor so far, work great. it's good deal, and convenient compare to rent a tool, especially when it take me many days to do the work.
Worth considering August 17, 2008 If you don't have an air compressor and you are considering renting a compressor and floor nailer to install flooring, you may be better off purchasing a reconditioned nailer. For about the same price as a one day rental you can own a nailer which means you can take your time installing the flooring and move at your own speed. It took much longer than I thought it would take to install the flooring: I rented a nailer & compressor for the first day, purchased a reconditioned Bostitch nailer and 1) saved money, 2) reduced stress, 3) eliminated trips to the rental store. Even if you are wondering what are you going to do with a floor nailer in your tool collection when finished, it is still a good deal as the reconditioned piece I purchased was in very good physical shape, worked fine, was less than half the price of a new one, and for me cheaper than renting. One time I jammed it by double nailing (my fault) and it was easy to unscrew the plate and clear the action. This reconditioned unit is a good deal.
